Sam Rudd

Sam Rudd is a painter and textiles designer. Sam begins her process in the landscape, creating dynamic sketches of the views which surround her homes in Cheshire and North Wales, one in the rural countryside and one by the sea. From the flux of woodland and field patterns to the ebb and flow of estuaries and sandy bays, both environments are a constant inspiration. These charismatic sketches gather the experience of place: captivating shapes are picked out, and used later in the studio for paintings and fabric designs. Sam’s paintings and textiles conjure a vision of rural landscape created with a feeling of deep familiarity and contentment inviting us to feel at ease and make ourselves at home. We hope that our creations can bring joy and comfort.
