Reva Green: Blossoming Business Blooms

Join us as we speak with one of Reva Green’s co-owners Megan Gell, about what it’s like running a family business in the heart of Tarporley.

A couple of weeks ago some of the Local team re-visited Tarporley to do a feature on some of the businesses including Reva Green. As well as catching up with co-owner Megan Gell we shot some great content as well as a virtual tour of the cafe.

Megan owns Reva Green with her twin sister Gemma and their mum Jennie who has been a florist for years. Their business first started just before lockdown with a shop in Barnton and moved to their back garden in a makeshift flower shed in lockdown.

Thankfully the business really took off during this time with people wanting some fresh flowers to brighten up their days.

“Seeing the smiles on people’s faces picking up their flowers was really special”.

After the success during lockdown, they started to look for a new shop and thought Tarporley was the perfect place.

“We wanted to get back into a village atmosphere and Tarporley seemed perfect. It’s a quaint cute village with the friendliest customers”.

Reva Green is not only a florist but also a cafe selling food, cakes, coffee and is a soon-to-be cocktail bar. Megan explained that when she eventually takes over the business after her mum she wants it to be something she is passionate about, and cocktails and masterclasses are just that!

“Once we have our licence we are looking to throw florist and cocktail masterclasses, which will be so fun”.

With a background in hospitality, Megan is always hard at work making her regulars their go-to orders, while Jennie is arranging beautiful bouquets after years of expertise.

The family is passionate about using local suppliers where they can for both the cafe and florist.

“Our flowers come mainly from Holland, but as the season starts to change we have a few local growers in Tarporley. They have the prettiest flowers.”

As for the cafe they source as “locally as possible for all our cakes”, they also sell gifts including cards with hand-dried flowers, which again are all made locally!

From the size of their cute shop, it really is amazing how much they offer. Reva Green also specialises in catering for events/parties, they offer graze boards and tables, afternoon tea, baskets as well as balloons and of course flowers for decorations.

“We are soon launching a picnic hamper range, we have some really nice hampers coming in”.

As we left we were buzzing off the family feel and wholesome vibes of Reva Green. You can tell they are all so passionate about what they do and love both their customers and being a brick-and-mortar business in Tarporley. Their love for flowers, hearty breakfasts, coffee, decorations and their expansion into the cocktail scene is spectacular and I’m sure their future will be special.

If you are in Tarporley or around that area make sure to pay a visit to this incredible family-run business, trust us you won’t be disappointed.
